Description: Summer and Winter is natural on the rigid heddle. This class will cover double density threading on two 10 EPI heddles to weave a finer cloth with 8/2 cotton. We will learn the theory of tied weaves (and why they are so great for rigid heddle weaving!) and how to design patterns with gridded paper. Students will translate the grafts to pattern sticks to weave their own Summer and Winter designs. Class will also cover the “treadlings” of Summer and Winter (paired O’s and X’s and dukagang…etc)
