Description: Many fiber artists have finished pieces they’d love to sell but are not ready to invest in a craft booth or jump straight into a full business. This practical, hands-on workshop is designed for makers who want a gentle, low-pressure introduction to selling online.
Participants will explore different selling platforms (Etsy, Shopify, and simple social-media–based options) with a focus on choosing the right “starter platform” for their goals. Through guided worksheets, demonstrations, and step-by-step instruction, each participant will begin setting up their own Etsy shop during class and draft one complete listing in their shop.
We’ll cover approachable systems and workflows for pricing, photography, descriptions, policies, and customer communication — all tailored for fiber artists. The class emphasizes building confidence, clarity, and forward momentum, rather than creating a full business overnight.
By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with:
Clarity about why they want to sell
- A chosen starting platform that fits their goals
- A partially set-up Etsy shop
- One complete draft listing
- A simple, low-pressure plan
- Renewed confidence in sharing and selling their work
