Description: Finger-manipulated weaving is a fun way to add interest to a project using your fingers. In this seminar, we’ll look at four decorative techniques that can be used on the rigid heddle loom: Leno Lace, Medallions, Brooks Bouquet, and Soumak You’ll have time to practise each skill and ask question as we go. Students will learn and try out 4 techniques on a sample warp.

Supplies that students will bring:This project will work with any warp…however, for a learning class, I recommend a dk/worsted weight wool in a 7.5 or 8 dent reed. It works very well with Briggs & Little wool, about 200m/100g. In addition:
- A warped loom. The warp should be at least 12″ wide and 48″ long
- Extra warp yarn for the weft (200m)
- A bulky weight yarn for weft (200m)
- 2 shuttles minimum
- Crochet hook #3-6
- weaving comb or wide tooth hair comb
- optional – extra weft options, different weights are fun to play with
