Session: Fiber and Yarn Basics and Why it is Important

Description: My goal is to help weavers and textile artists to recognize the value of fiber characteristics. What those fibers will do for you. Example why would you not use wool for a dish towel and why. What weave structure would work well for a certain item. Why or why not. Why would not want to over dye something of wool and cotton and when you. What is a protein fiber and what is a cellulose fiber and why is that important. What is the problem with long floats and when. Things I learned as a textile designer for industry and with 56 years of weaving.
