Conference Colors are here!

Last month we shared with you the conference theme. This month, it’s the conference colors.

You would think that this would be the fun part of conference planning. Playing with colors, developing a palette. Imagining all the fun you could have weaving with those hues. And that might be true for an individual. But this was a committee trying to do this. Yikes!

After getting some great ideas from the committee members, and then spending way too much time comparing and debating, we finally settled on having the name tag and awards ribbon folks make the final selection. And they came up with a great set of colors that reflect ideas in the conference theme, and the natural landscape of Portland.

But, how to describe those colors accurately? It reminds me of Myrna Loy in “Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House” where she tries to tell the painter and contractor what colors to use throughout the house.

Luckily for us, you don’t have to rely on my descriptions. We’ve got a suggested list of fibers from different vendors in different weights that will give you a good start. And if you need a color from a vendor that isn’t listed just look for something in the general range of colors represented on the Conference Colors page.

With seven colors to choose from I’m sure everyone will find something that sparks their imagination and creativity. We can’t wait to see what everyone creates!
