Last time we told you about the evening event on Thursday night – the fashion show. Today, we want to share with you our plans for Friday night.
First off, there will be a buffet dinner. Not sure what the cuisine will be, but we’ll make sure it’s tasty. And Friday will also be the Shopping Extravaganza. The vendor hall will be open to the public all day, but Friday evening shopping is reserved just for those who buy a ticket to join us for that evening’s events. And you’ll want to join us, because in addition to dinner and shopping, there will be a special talk by Caroline Browne and Alexandria McKean titled, “The Big Weave: Honoring the Legacy of Marguerite Porter Davison.”

Like many weavers I have a copy of ‘the green book’. Mine is a 1971 printing of the revised edition, with that famous green cover. And you can tell by looking at it that’s it’s been well used. And why not – for 4 shaft weavers it’s a treasure trove of patterns. But at this point that particular book is 55 years old, and the original is even older. But all these years later the book is getting an update and a new release. Caroline, Marguerite Davison’s granddaughter, and Alexandria will tell us all about the project to offer a new printing of this book, and all the work they’re putting into it to make it a little more modern while keeping it’s unique character and charm. It’s a talk you won’t want to miss.
Next time, Saturday night! Stay tuned.
