Well, we’ve shared the list of instructors, workshops and seminars, so you know what’s going on during the day at the conference. But what about the evenings?
Well, this week we’ll share with you some of the evening events on offer. Starting with the fashion show.
My first fashion show was at Convergence 2018 in Reno. When people started talking about it I didn’t really want to go. How could models walking up and down a runway possibly be interesting.? Boy was I wrong. That first show was amazing! And of course it was. If I had just taken a minute to think about WHAT would be on display I would have realized that this was the event of the week for many.
So what will you see at the fashion show? You’ll see some AMAZING work by some very talented artists. This picture is of a tunic that was made by Portland’s own Terry Mattison that she modeled in the fashion show in Yakima last year. It won the awards for Best Garment Construction, sponsored by Eugene Weavers Guild, and The Virginia Harvey Award for Best Use of Color in a Woven Work, sponsored by Seattle Weavers Guild. It’s a stunning piece, and this is just one example of the garments that were on the runway last year. The items you’ll see in the fashion show are really wonderful, and the show is guaranteed to be incredible. So mark your calendar for Thursday, June 17. You won’t want to miss it. (P.S. There will be a no-host bar and nibbles, too!)
