Description: This class covers everything a rigid heddle needs to know to use painted warps on their rigid heddle. Students will begin by learning to wind a 50 end scarp warp on a warping board, then indirect warp their loom. After direct warping basics are covered, students can select a cotton yarn to wind their final warps. We will finish by soaking the warps in a soda ash and water and painting them with pre-mixed fiber reactive dyes. Students will leave with their painted warp wrapped in several layers of plastic for rinsing and drying when they return home.
