Quinn Daedal

Quinn Daedal is the founder and director of Stanford University’s Textile Makerspace and YarnLab, where they have been teaching “Data Visualization with Textiles” annually since 2023. They have published on the intersection of craft and digital humanities in the Journal of Modern Craft, DH + Lib, and the Journal of the Korean Association of Digital Humanities. Quinn’s own projects include weaving messages in their work Slack; all the data (attendance, student grades, word count on slides and readings, course evaluations, emails contesting final grades) from a humanities course on AI in fall 2023; text messages exchanged with their girlfriend; protagonist (nick)names in Tamsyn Muir’s “Gideon the Ninth”; and National Endowment for the Humanities grants.
