Description: This is designed to be an INTRO to computerized drafting. We begin with the very basics of loading and opening the program, and will work on threading, tie-up, treadling, using color, cutting/pasting, and using numerous short-cuts to make drafting a breeze. In the Intermediate session we expand, contract, change the size of threads, cut/paste, network, and colorized to dazzle. The Advanced session will focus on amalgamations, turning, advancing techniques, using a favorite tie-up, treadling or threading for numerous designs, and many more methods to make your design your own – no more recipe- weaving. Note: This program uses a major drafting program available for download onto your own system: Fiberworks PCW. I send instructions out well ahead of time to download a free demo version of this program, or participants can use their own program if they have one. Tools are almost universal so can be used in other drafting programs.

Supplies that students will bring:
- A working laptop with program downloaded beforehand so as not to interrupt class. Laptop MUST have a mouse. Touch screens do not work for these programs.
- Tablet for notes. I work closely with participants well before the class to help them download free demo program and be certain that they are prepared.
- Having a seat with a desk is better than balancing laptop on lap.
- If participants would like to bring ‘recipe-weaving’ books for examples, they may and we can discuss together.
