Description: One of the few living tablet weaving traditions in the world is found in Uzbekistan. The tablet woven trim they make, called Jiyak, breaks nearly all the “rules” of typical tablet weaving. Using rectangular cards with only 2 holes, cablework designs are made by jumping the cards over each other to new positions within the deck. Simple to weave but with a dramatic effect, this class is suitable for novice tablet weavers, as well as those with more experience who are interested in trying something a little different.
