Session: Tapestry Weaving – Exploring the Possibilities of Pick and Pick

Description: Pick and pick can be so much more than just vertical stripes. Come play with this powerful technique and discover new ways to use it. We will explore edges and symmetry on selvages and sectional pieces; color theory with gradations, optical blending, and transitions; shapes, forms, and patterns; and rhythm and movement. Students will go home with the confidence to use pick and pick in a variety of situations!

Supplies that students will bring: 

  • A pre-warped loom with 12/6 cotton seine twine at 8 or 10 e.p.i. with at least 6 inches of width
  • Tapestry tools: beater, shed stick, needles, bobbins, scissors (your weaving kit)
