Description: Come step beyond the smooth two-dimensional medium of tapestry by incorporating texture techniques that will add depth, dimension, and interest to your weaving. We will explore a variety of soumak; twining; weft materials; knots; worms; and planning the use of texture for compositional balance. Students will go home with techniques to add to their skill toolboxes that they can pull out to create visual impact and complexity.

- A pre-warped loom with 12/6 cotton seine twine at 8 or 10 e.p.i. with at least 6 inches of width
- Tapestry tools: beater, shed stick, needles, bobbins, scissors (your weaving kit)
