
Liz Moncrief is a retiree from the US Forest Service in Colorado and made the move to Washington in 2014. During her career she also maintained a small business of spinning, weaving, dyeing and loom rehabilitation. She’s exhibited several woven art pieces in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, and now Washington galleries. She’s given workshops and retreats for regional Festivals and Conferences: Estes Park Wool Fest, Scotts Bluff Fiber Festival, Pagosa Springs Fiber Fest, Northwest Regional Spinners Association, Utah State University, Colorado State University, Skagit Valley College, FiberFusionNW, HGA and MAFA.
In 2017 and 2022, she received awards from Complex Weavers Association, a national group, for woven pieces on exhibit In Washington and Colorado.
Since then, Liz has juried into the Northwest Art Beat Studio Tour in her weaving studio. In 2023 and 2025 she was asked to be one of the Featured Artists in the coveted ARTS ALIVE annual juried fine-art show in La Connor Washington.
She is a current member of the Seattle, Skagit Valley and Whidbey Weavers Guilds. She is a past Membership Chair and currently the Education Chair for the Association of Northwest Weavers Guilds.
