Deflected Double Weave – An Investigation Into the Structure and Yarns That Make the Deflections

Only 3 Spaces Left! Last Updated April 15

Participants will learn about the basic elements of the structure of Deflected Double Weave (DDW), how draft, yarns and wet finishing contribute to changing the woven web into a finished product. Each participant will bring a loom, which will be set-up prior to class; the warping instructions will be sent out by the instructor after registrations are confirmed in April. Each participant will need to accurately follow the threading instructions provided – prior to class. Participants will be weaving a gamp, set up with 4-5 threadings (depending on loom width); during the workshop we will experiment with a variety (10+) of treadlings. The final day will be wet finishing and analysis of the gamp sections.  Bring your tablet or computer if you want to use a WIF (provided at the workshop).
