When I was a young bride, the wife of a new business owner, I used to joke that I always wrote grocery checks for a little over the total. I claimed that by keeping a little stash of cash, I made it harder for my hubs to “track my fabric store expenditures.” These days I still buy fabric, but I use my credit card, and I don’t hide anything. My hubs loves the things I make.
But that old idea is pretty powerful. Putting away a little bit of cash every so often can make larger purchases possible. And you might want to begin thinking that way about the 2025 ANWG Conference in Yakima, WA. And to make that easier, I have good news!
Our conference committee will soon be finalizing our conference blocks for attendees at three nearby hotels:
- The Holiday Inn, across Yakima Avenue from the Convention Center.
- The Red Lion Inn, across the parking lot from the Convention Center.
- The Oxford Inn, just five blocks away, on the east side of Highway 82.
During high season, the resort town of Bend (site of the 2023 conference) was a much higher cost venue than Yakima. And, while the final numbers aren’t yet available, the price for rooms in 2025 will reflect the more reasonable costs of the Yakima area. We expect the price to range from 140 to 160 dollars per night—nearly one hundred dollars per night less than the Bend venue!
For you, my friends, that might enable you to join us for the entire week of class offerings and events—rather than just the weekend. And, since double occupancy is no more expensive, you can save even more by sharing a room with a friend. The Red Lion venue will even come with breakfast. How convenient is that?
We know that conferences and class expenditures, along with the cost of food and lodging, can really add up. But, if you plan now, putting away a little cash here and there, you’ll be ready to relax and enjoy the best instructors, the most extensive array of vendors, and the most exciting inspiration that a great conference can provide.
So what do you say, time to put a little “cash back” in an envelope somewhere?

2025 ANWG Conference Co-Chair
