Your people will be there

As we approach the final week of availability for registration packages, let us imagine who will turn up at ANWG 2025 in Yakima – a few hundred weavers, spinners, knitters, braiders and other fiber heads. As my friend Terry O’Neil has said, “These are the people who know what I’m talking about!”

If you are still weighing your decision to attend, consider the role of the fiber community in your life. Year in, year out, we return to our guilds because guild members are the people who we want to know. The ANWG conference is a major draw for this chosen community – a few days at a conference promise the reward of time among our people.

This year, our decision to participate holds more significance than the choice of meat or vegetarian at the banquet. Are we showing up for the things that really matter to us? Are we supporting the people and organizations that make our lives meaningful? These are things that we can control.

The maximum event seating for the conference evening events is 720. Imagine if we filled every seat – 720 weavers, spinners, knitters and their +1’s coming together for an act of regional, fiber art solidarity. You don’t want to miss that.

I will be in Yakima volunteering every day. I look forward to our time together.
