Conference payments are processed by PayPal. The payment screens may be confusing, but you do NOT need a PayPal account. You simply need to carefully navigate the screens and buttons to pay without having or creating an account. (If you have a PayPal account and want to use it you can see below for more information.)
Paying by Debit or Credit Card
After clicking Calculate, then Submit Registration the system will tell you how much you owe. Clicking Continue will take you to the payment system.
The payment system assumes you want to pay with PayPal, but you don’t have to do that. You can click the “Pay with Debit or Credit Card” button to pay without using a PayPal account.
PayPal will prompt for your email address. Enter your address and click Continue to Payment.
On the next screen PayPal will prompt for a phone number. The default is a cell phone number. If you enter a cell phone number the system will text a security code to you that will need to be entered to complete the transaction. If you do not have a cell phone be sure to select Home or Work. If you select either of those options the system will skip the security code step.
After entering your credit card and address information the system has a setting to automatically create a PayPal account for you. If you do not want to create a PayPal account be sure to change this setting.
When the information is entered and you’ve disabled the PayPal account creation you will get a new button that says “Pay now as guest.” You can fill in your credit card information and proceed with your payment. If you entered a cell phone number PayPal will text a code to your phone, and on the next screen will prompt you to enter the code before it will proceed. If you entered a home or work number the system will just proceed and process the payment.
Paying with a PayPal Account
If you wish to pay with PayPal it’s easiest to first log into your PayPal account in another window or tab. After logging into the account you can then go to through the payment steps and will be prompted to pay with your PayPal account.
From here you can select your PayPal account options, or apply for a PayPal Credit Card. If you don’t have a credit card tied to your PayPal account you can click “Add debit or credit card” to enter that information.
After entering your card information you’ll now have that card listed as a payment option. Make sure that’s selected then click Complete Purchase to make your payment with this credit card.
