I began knitting more than 40 years ago and began producing my own designs more than 25 years ago because it seemed that the yarns I wanted to use for a particular garment never fit with what commercial patterns called for and because of frustration over error-filled patterns from big companies. I have designed patterns for Breezy Meadow Farm, Bellingham, WA, K1C2 Solutions, Ventura, CA, and Harrisville Designs, Harrisville, NH. One of my designs was published in Knit ‘N Style magazine. I have taught classes for the Madrona Fiber Arts Knitting Retreat, Gig Harbor, WA; Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival, Canby, OR; and at my local yarn shop Fiber Nooks & Crannys, Corvallis, OR. I have taught Beginning & Advanced Inkle Weaving workshops at Black Sheep Gathering (BSG) for the last few years.
