Material & Technique<\/strong>: 5 shaft wa\ufb04e weave, 5 shaft from a handweaving.net pattern in 8\/2 unmercerized cotton woven on a 8 shaft Schacht standard floor<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Description<\/strong>: The spark for this project came straight from the parameters I’d set for myself: I wanted to make towels, incorporate texture, use colorful cotton yarns from my stash, and explore a “what if” question. With that framework in place, my imagination kicked into gear. I’ve always loved the feel and look of textured wa\ufb04e weave, so that became my starting point. I played around with di\ufb00erent color combos, eventually landing on a bold, high-contrast pairing. Traditionally, wa\ufb04e weave uses the same color for both the warp and weft\u2014but I couldn’t help but wonder: what if I used di\ufb00erent colors for each? The result was striking\u2014each side of the towel showcases a di\ufb00erent dominant hue. So, which side is the “right” one? Honestly, both are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
