Description: During the pandemic my husband and I, like many others, spent a lot of our time working puzzles. We still love puzzles, but our completion rate has nose dived the last year or so. At the end of 2020, I designed my first “Pandemic Puzzler’ dishtowel using a tessellated puzzle piece motif and broken twill for the structure. Since then, I have gone on to revisit the puzzle piece motif multiple times by challenging myself to weave the design in other structures. This towel, which was woven in 2024, once again revisits the puzzle piece design in a 2/2 twill. By using double-two-tie threading, I was able to enlarge the puzzle pieces and create an unbroken twill line even though the base design motif is symmetric right to left and top to bottom. I love the visual complexity and the eye strain that this design creates.
