Flowing Green

Diane Pigg, Eugene Weavers Guild, Eugene, OR

Materials & Technique: 16S Point Twill – Handweaving.net. AVL V-Series Loom.
Warp – 10/2 Tencel, Ice dyed;
Weft – 8/2 Tencel

Description: This warp was ice dyed as part of a guild project sponsored by an ANWG Grant! Check out the Eugene Weavers’ Guild booth for other beautiful pieces. The colors used in ice dyeing this warp were Inspired by the colors of Oregon and the conference colors. The ice dyeing method adds a touch of serendipity to the placement and mixing of colors, which makes weaving extra fun! Choosing a weft color was tough, but once I auditioned the bright green, the choice was obvious! The twill draft provides a lot of variation between the warp and weft, adding complexity to the interplay of colors.
