Fabric Construction – Other:
Woven Structure: Structure is plain weave with supplemental warp. It was woven on 8 shafts on a Schacht loom. The lining is vintage kimono silk satin dyed by winding onto a rope, compressed and then dyed. The colors were to repeat the silk warp stripes in the outer fabric.
Yarn Details and SETT: I wanted to use this vintage fabric that I wove so long ago that I do not have specific information on it. It is plain weave fine wool with silk supplemental warps to make the stripes.

Special Treatments: As stated above, the lining was “rope dyed”. I wound the fabric on a rope, compressed it and then dyed it in green and purple. I used fiber reactive dyes.
Textile Finishing: The outer fabric was hand wash, then dried in the dryer.
Textile Challenges:
Garment Construction: I cut out both the fabric and the lining, hemmed each separately, sewed the shoulder seam then put them together so that they could be bound together by the binding.
