Woven on my Mighty Wolf8 Shafts 40 epi, 5/2 Cotton Warp Background in Black, 5/2 Cotton Warp Pattern in various colors, including 3 wide Ice-Dyed stripes, Thin Weft 5/2 Cotton in Black, Thick Weft doubled Sugar and Cream Cotton in Black
Description: I was impressed by Lucienne Coifman’s non-traditional Rep project in the M/J 2020 issue of Handwoven. To make it my own I decided to scale it bigger and add lots of colors. The three ice-dyed stripes I added came from color samples that I had experimented with while preparing to teach an ice-dye workshop. The solid color stripes I added all came from my stash. I formulated a tie-up/treadling plan that could be accomplished with 11 treadles, meaning I only had to change tie-ups occasionally. The title of my wall-hanging came from my brother who said it looked as if I had taken up the craft of stained glass.
