Material and Technique:
- Mounting fabric: Woven on a double warped rigid heddle loom, the weft placed with an Ashford wavy stick shuttle. Warp is 8/2 cotton, weft is hand spun wool and 8/2 cotton.
- Tapestry: Woven on a Mirrix loom. Warp is 12/9 seine twine. Weft is 2 strands of white wool, colors are 3 strands of Appleton crewel wool. All designs are of my creation.
- Net: Knotted using #8 Perl cotton. Directions from a random survival site on YouTube.
Description: The Yakama Nation is the living example of caring for our earth, plants, water and creatures (including us). It would be a National treasure if all of the public lands would follow their example. They give us hope for the future of all of our children. The name “Yakima” is woven in an arc through the middle of the salmon.
