This may be because it requires 5 or more shafts; it could be the dense sett required or maybe it is because there is so little readily available information about weaving satin. Whatever the cause, this seminar will help clear up the mystery and encourage weavers to try their hand at weaving a few yards of satin for themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using WeavePoint software to demonstrate and some pencil and paper exercises, we\u2019ll learn how to create \u201cshaded satins\u201d going from Satin to Sateen in a step-by-step progression. We\u2019ll learn about \u201csatin counters\u201d, what they are and how to derive the counters for various types of satin. The discussion will include information on sett, fiber choices and throughout we\u2019ll discover ways to let your weaving software do the heavy lifting in the design process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Leader:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/anwgconference.org\/archive\/2023\/\/jannie-taylor\/\">Jannie Taylor<\/a><\/strong><br><strong>Duration:<\/strong>&nbsp;3 hours<br><strong>Level:<\/strong>&nbsp;Intermediate; Should understand drafting; having some software experience would be good but not required.&nbsp;<br><strong><strong><strong>Student supplies to bring:<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>&nbsp;Students should bring black pen and correction tape eraser, clip board or other firm surface for writing.<br><strong>Materials Fee:<\/strong>&nbsp; $5 for a spiral bound notebook.
