Available Workshop Highlights
Seats are still available in these two workshops: Combining Common Cotton with Mary Berent and Dye Your Own Yarn with Allison Harding. Mary has been a weaver for over 40 years. Cotton is always her go to material for weaving. Her first projects were cotton, and she still loves the utility and versatility of cotton. Mary’s articles have been featured in Weaver’s Magazine, Handwoven Magazine, Spin off and Shuttle, Spindle and Dyepot. Join Mary in her 3-day workshop Monday-Wednesday.
Allison is an award-winning fiber artist who knits, crochets, weaves, felts, dyes, cards, spins, sews, and more. If its fiber related, she’s either tried it or it’s on her bucket list. Allison is an NWRSA Certified Fiber Arts Judge who is passionate about education. She strives to explain not only the how, but the why of everything she does in fun and innovative ways. Learn how to dye your own yarn with Allison in a 1-day workshop on Tuesday.
Available Seminar Highlights
Two interesting seminars have seats available: Dorset Buttons Virtual Hands-on Seminar with Denise Kovnat, and Fiber, Yarn, Fabric with Linda Kubik. Make a Dorset Button with Denise in this Friday afternoon seminar. Denise will be on the big screen instructing the class on creating buttons. A classroom assistant will help those in-person attendees make buttons. A Zoom at home seminar is also available for purchase beginning March 27.
Linda’s seminar explores the diversity and complexity of our natural fibers. This is an interactive, hands-on class. Everyone will receive a packet of various types of natural fibers and yarns. The group will discuss spinning and how it affects the yarn and fabric structure as well as examining many types of commercial yarn and how they relate to fabric structure and hand.
