Workshop Highlight
Are you a ply-split braider? You might want to take advantage of Barbara Walkers’ 1-day workshop on Thursday, Ply-splitting from Drawdowns. Barbara has written a book on this subject. She has also won numerous awards for her ply-splitting pieces.
In this workshop you will learn how to interpret weave structures in ply-splitting by using the drawdown portion of a weaving draft. Students need experience in ply-splitting and to know the difference between a quarter twist and a half twist, and the POT and SCOT structures. Don’t miss this opportunity to advance your ply-splitting skills.
Seminar Highlight
Are you interested in Rigid Heddle weaving but are not familiar with looms? Patty Huffer’s Friday morning seminar, What Rigid Heddle Loom is Best For Me? will have a variety of rigid heddle looms on hand and discuss the pros and cons of each loom. Looms will be available for students to try a test run.
Show Entry Update: The fashion show entry deadline has been extended to May 1. Take this opportunity to enter your fiber art into one of the conference shows.
