There are several events happening during the conference, some that are open to attendees only and some that are open to the general public.
Attendees Only
- Instructor Show – See the work of some of our instructors and presenters in the Instructor Show exhibit. Open to attendees only Thursday, June 15, 12:00 – 6:00 PM.
- Marketplace – Many vendors will be selling fiber-related items in our vendor marketplace. Open to attendees only Thursday, June 15, 12:00 – 5:00 PM.
- Fiber Connections Fashion Show – see how fiber artists bring their skills and imagination to fruition in wearable creations. Requires admission through a conference package purchase or a la carte ticket purchase available March 27-May 22.
- Fiber Connections Juried Show Exhibit – Select items created by attendees will be on display in the Fiber Connections Juried Show. Open to attendees only Thursday, June 15, 12:00 – 6:00 PM.
- Fiber Connections Open Show Exhibit – Fiber-related items created by attendees will be on display in the Fiber Connections Open Show. Open to attendees only Thursday, June 15, 12:00 – 6:00 PM.
- Fiber Connections Conference Colors Show Exhibit – Fiber-related items created by attendees using conference colors will be on display in the Fiber Connections Open Show. Open to attendees only Thursday, June 15, 12:00 – 6:00 PM.
- Guild Booths – Learn about some of the guilds that make up the Association of Northwest Weavers’ Guilds (ANWG). Guild booths will be in the Marketplace. Open to attendees only Thursday, June 15, 12:00 – 6:00 PM.
- Tea Towel Exchange – The towel exchange is one of those events that is looked forward to by many attendees, with towel weaving beginning months in advance of the event.
- Crescent Moon Alpaca Ranch Visit – 3:00 PM, Wednesday, June 14. Meet in front of the Riverhouse Convention Center at 12:45 PM to load van. Transportation charge approx. $15 per person, cash only.
- ANWG Board Meeting – the ANWG board will meet Wednesday, June 14 at 5 PM.
- Special Sale Shopping Extravaganza Night, sponsored by Heddlecraft® Magazine. Open to attendees only Thursday, June 15, 5:00 – 9:00 PM. Requires admission through a conference package purchase or a la carte ticket purchase available March 27-May 22.
- Opening Reception – Thursday, June 15, 5:00 – 7:30 PM, No-host bar, Hors d’oeuvres. Requires admission through a conference package purchase or an a la carte ticket purchase available March 27-May 22.
- ANWG Annual Membership Meeting – Friday, June 16, 7:30 – 8:30 AM. ANWG Reps given priority.
- HGA-COE Weaving Applicant Meeting – Friday, June 16, 12:00 PM. This meeting is for anyone with any interest in the Certificate of Excellence, which is an educational program offered and administered by the Handweavers Guild of America. Rebecca Winter will give a brief overview of the program, and then the meeting will continue in an informal question and answer format. If you have ever wondered if this program is for you, this meeting may provide the answer.
- Conference Banquet – Friday, June 16, Convention Center Ballroom 6:00 PM, no-host bar 5:00 – 7:30 PM. Requires admission through a conference package purchase or a la carte ticket purchase available March 27-May 22.
- Keynote Address – Friday, June 16, 7:30 PM. Jeanne Carver, Imperial Stock Ranch – Shaniko Wool Company. Requires admission through a conference package purchase or a la carte ticket purchase available March 27-May 22.
- Complex Weavers Meeting – Saturday, June 17, 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM.
- Wrapped in History, ANWG Historical Weaving Study Group Meet-up. Saturday, June 16, 12:00.
- Fashion Show – Saturday, June 17, 7:30 PM. Convention Center Ballroom, Sponsored by Lunatic Fringe. Awards announced, closing comments. Requires admission through a conference package purchase or an a la carte ticket purchase available March 27-May 22.
Open to the Public

- Conference Night at Wool Town – Local Bend yarn shop hosting a Fiber Connections Conference night, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Treat yourself to dinner in downtown Bend and visit Wool Town for lots of specialty yarns, felting kits, and other knitting and weaving supplies.
- Demonstrations – see fiber artists at work. Demonstrations will be held Friday and Saturday from 9 – 5.

- Tapestry Exhibit – An exhibit of works by noted Oregon fiber artist Margaret Kilbuck Johansen (1923 – 2004) is also scheduled during the conference. The exhibit and sale of some of her works will be available for viewing at the Central Oregon Community College Barber Library from June 5-July 31, 2023. The exhibit will be open to the public during the library open hours at 2600 NW College Way, Bend, OR, including the hours of 8 – 5 on Friday, June 16.
