In this relaxing hands-on seminar, we’ll create a hand-stitched patch using simple embroidery techniques. Feel free to let your creativity flow through colorful, wandering stitches, or meditate with a simple and buildable sashiko technique to create complex geometric patterns from humble running stitches. We’ll channel traditional sewing circles where stitching was a social activity and enjoy a chance to slow down our hectic life pace. There is no right or wrong way to stitch in this session! Finished patches will be sturdy enough to attach to your personal bag, notebook, or a favorite pair of jeans.
All stitching materials and embroidery patterns will be provided; participants are welcome to bring their personal sewing kits. You will walk away with a unique handmade patch, patterns and tips for recreating your slow stitch experience, and a refreshed mind!
